Megan and Hunter before Prom

Megan is the young lady that lives up the street. She is a fantastic young woman!! She went to her Junior Prom Saturday night!! She is like a big sister to Hunter. Hunter and Megan's brother Aaron are very good friends and I take them to school every morning.

Megan is what is known as the perfect child. She is in 11th grade and is going to the local college to take college courses. She gets straight A's. She swims on the swim team, runs track and does triathlons. She is one of those young ladies that is just naturally beautiful and does not need makeup. She is so sweet and kind and does a large amount of charity work as well.

She wants to go to Wake Forest and become a Physician!

It is amazing to see her grow the way she has in the past several years. She is quite an amazing young lady!!

I LUV HER!!!

Relay for Life June 1st

This year I am participating in Relay for Life on June 1st as a dear friend of mine from the ballfield has been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She has a wonderful support team and a wonderful husband and two terrific boys. She has been through half of her treatments and is doing well.

Please help me by reaching my goal and above. You can either donate online or you can donate to me with a check or whatever you feel comfortable with, even if it is a couple dollars. I would appreciate anything that you can do!!

To donate online, please click or copy and paste on the link below. It will take you to the website. Then look on the right hand side for Cyndi Owens. Click on that and her page will come up. Once on her page, click on My Team and scroll down and look at her team list. My name is there. Click on it and then follow directions.

Again anything is appreciated as this cause is very important to me.

Thank you so much!!

DMV

Needless to say - I HATE THE DMV!

As many know I just had a Birthday Saturday and then it hit me Sunday that my license was expired!

8:00 AM on a Monday morning at the DMV is a very bad way to start off the week. Especially when I had to wait over an hour and a half with NO KNITTING!! Yes - you heard me 1.5 hours of wasted time that I should have productively been using KNITTING!! I could have kicked myself. Instead - I sat there and watched and listened to all of the weirdo's and their lies in order to get a license. It was quite amusing to hear. It was quite an experience! Not to mention - what lovely personalities the DMV workers have. I think someone went pee-pee in their cornflakes before they got there. The one lady was pretty much a B****!! But I had the nice man named Gerald! He was very nice. A little slow - but nice. I think those workers really hate their jobs and the bad thing is if you complain to the state, those workers get raises and promotions!! Not to mention state benefits!!

Never the less - it is done for 8 years and I hate to brag, but the picture was quite good!

Contest 5

I am not sure what I enjoy more, knitting in the fall/winter or spring summer. All I know is that I just love to do it! When I don't - I can tell as I am grouchy! I did not get to knit much this weekend - so needless to say - I was GROUCHY!! And it was my Birthday too!!

In the fall/winter, I love to curl up in my recliner and a fuzzy blanket and sit by the fireplace with coffee and my favorite cat slippers on. My Taz cat likes to go under the blanket as well and we sit for hours as my husband watches games. I have learned to tune them out and enjoy my snuggle time with my Tazzer!!

In spring/summer, I enjoy sitting on the screened in porch by the pool in my wicker rocker, sipping coffee and enjoying fresh homemade strawberry jelly. (I love April/May and Strawberry season!) There is a fan and a light, so I can do morning or night! I will get up at 6:30 to go out there and listen to the trickle of the water in the pool and the birds. It is so peaceful. Of course - where I go, my feline followers must go too! All 3 love the porch. I get to enjoy that until 10:00 or so when the rednecks across the street kick their screamming kids out all day long. Then we cut the music on to drown them out! Then 8:30 at night - all is calm again!!
