- I have only been knitting for about 2 1/2 years. I was taught by a friend in my office to make scarves who is left handed. Somewhere-- I picked up, between her teaching me backwards, to completely knitting Continental. I am still learning new tricks all the time.I have only been able to do a cable since October 2006 with thanks to Jo and Susan at Knit Picky!!

Your yarn swift idea is pure genius! I'm a fan of any plan that saves me $70! I'm one of those crazy people who actually likes to do the winding by hand, though. That way I can control how much tension is in the yarn and I can find (and remove) any knots or bad joins.
