Knitting Photos

Here are a couple completed and a couple I am working on - (socks and blanket)

Parisian Tote

Trying to get my son's camera from him long enough was very hard!
He takes pictures of everything!!

Ok - In the past several months here are some of my recent projects. Most I have sold or given as gifts, but here is a few.

This is my Parisian tote. I have yarn to make 2 more that I will start in July when I am out with my surgery.

Mini Ham Puffs Recipe

Ok - Here it is for all of you that really wanted it!

Mini Ham Puffs

1 package (2.5 ounces) processed ham (Or turkey)
2 Tbsp. finely chopped onion (I don't use)
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or swiss)(I use more!)
1 egg
1 Tbsp fresh snipped parsley
1 1/2 tsp Dijon Mustard (I use a little more)
1/8 tsp black pepper
1 package of ref. Crescent rolls

Preheat oven to 350
spray a mini muffin pan lightly with oil
Finely chop ham and onions.
In a bowl place ham, onions, cheese, egg, parsley, mustard and pepper. Mix well.
Unroll cresent rolls and press into a large rectangle, cut into 24 squares using a pizza cutter.
Place 1 square in each mini muffin cup. press lightly into cup.
Fill each cup with a small scoop of ham mixture.
Bake 12-14 min til puffs are lightly brown. Remove from pan and serve.

** I do not use the onion and I add more cheese and ham, as I have found sometimes the egg over powers the ham and cheese and makes it more of a quiche than the ham and cheese taste. Once you make a couple times, you will decide how you like. Also good with turkey, cheddar and a little broccoli.

Enjoy!!

I want to show Va. Tech and the families that we support them! Please have all squares to me by May 25th and I will send to the shop in Blacksburg,VA. If everyone can do one or two squares, it would mean so much. Attach a small note with your name, email and a message.

Thanks and let's show them that the Knit Picky gang has them in our thoughts and prayers.

BASEBALL IS HERE!!

I have to say - I love all sports. But BASEBALL is my favorite! I love being outside (except for last night it was misting rain and in the 40's at the game).

I love seeing this group of 13-14 year olds grow and turning into young men. Not to mention that they have grown 5-10 inches since last year and they have those cute cracks in their voice when they talk and yell!! They are growing so quickly into fine young men.

There is nothing more enjoyable than watching children be children in the light of everything going on in the world today. Little Girls that wear their little sun dresses and sandles and sit in the red mud and play with matchbox cars. Watching a group of little ones with a tennis ball playing "Wall Ball" and laughing. Watching little ones eat a hotdog or corn dog and nachos and cotton candy. Oh - watching my husband who is so quiet and laid back sit and eat a funnel cake with powdered sugar all over his face and just having a good time. Seeing a little one who has struck out everytime at bat, hit one and not know what to do. Watching you kids face when he/she hits their first homerun. Knowing the main thing that all of them want at the end is a free drink that is a mix of cherry, pepsi, dr. pepper and Mt. dew. It is amazing to see how they can grow together and work together and the memories that they have from their games and after the games just hanging out.

I have to say that there is no greater thing for a parent to see their child doing something that they truly enjoy and succeed at. I love to watch him play and watch him do well. Even though he is 13, he still hugs and kisses me before every game and tells me he loves me.

There are so many things that kids can do away from the ball field that have taken away from families actually doing something together. At least there are still some kids left that want to spend all day Saturdays at the fields hanging out, getting together a pickup game on an open field and being with friends and family and not in a closed room on a computer. We have to drag Hunter away from the field most nights.

I love to see kids having fun -- too bad the parents cant be as mature most of the time!!

Virginia Tech

Please take time today to remember those who lost their lives this past Monday. Today has been declared Virginia Tech Day and we have all been asked to wear the maroon and orange to remember them.

VT has a special place and fond memories in my heart. There were many weekends I spent there with friends and family growing up. Even though I love my Deacons, I grew up a Hokie and and always will be in my heart.

Please pray for the families and their friends of those who lost their lives....

Go Hokies!

My Heart is broken!

It has been a very bad day. I just received bad news about my sister. The egg was stuck in her tubes and she lost the baby. My heart is breaking for her.

Why is it that the ones who deserve to have kids and the ones you know will be the best parents have so much trouble? And yet the ones who do not want to take care of them have so many?? This is the 5th loss and they get harder each time. They want a child so bad. They are such sweet and kind people and they have so much love to give....

Please keep them in your prayers and thoughts...

I love you both April and Dwayne!!

Love - Sissy

29 days til 35

YES - it's 29 days til I turn 35! For all of those that know me, you will understand that Birthday month is fast approaching at my house. May is Birthday month for me. I get to do whatever I want all month as I am the Princess and spoiled absolutely rotten!! My husband will tell you that as well!

Now for those who truly really know me, every month is birthday month!! Which basically means that I pretty much do not get told the N word. (The N word is not allowed at my house when I ask for something. It is the word No.)

Needless to say, my husband spoils me and even if he says the N word, I normally get my way. He laughs at me, but will tell you that it is the truth.

He tried to use the N word several times. Now, he loves Taz and Kisa as much as I do!! (I am still working on the puppy, but I really like the freedom you have with cats as I am not a get up at 5:00 AM and walk the dog in cold rain kinda gal!)
